The Santa Monica thrift shop run by Assistance League of Santa Monica takes both shoppers and donations on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Donated goods stock its shelves, and the sales fund the chapter's volunteer-led programs for local children and adults in need.
Those programs include Operation School Bell, which gives schoolchildren backpacks filled with school supplies, vision care and emergency clothing. The chapter also funds college and trade school scholarships for local high school students and foster youth, plus camperships that pay for winter and summer sleep-away camp. A community support program began when the shop closed during Covid and its unused merchandise went to local nonprofits. The shop occupies a tan building with a red tile roof, and the chapter's name and a round bronze seal sit above the gabled entrance.
