Run by the American Cancer Society, the Discovery Shop in Walnut Creek resells donated merchandise, and all proceeds from its sales support the Society's fight against cancer. The Society has owned and operated its Discovery Shops for 55 years as upscale resale stores, stocking clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles and household goods. Donations of clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares and furniture are tax-deductible.
A blue-and-white Society sign sits above a red clay tile overhang held up by dark wooden posts. The doors open seven days a week. Seniors 55 and older receive a discount on Tuesdays, military members with ID save every day, and all sales are final.
