Part thrift shop, part donation center, the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Porterville accepts contributions and sells merchandise under one roof. Upholstered sofas and armchairs fill the space behind its wide front windows. The store opens its doors every day of the week and stays open into the evening on at least one of them. Money from its sales goes toward the Salvation Army's adult rehabilitation programs.
