Goodwill Atascadero is both a thrift store and a donation center, so people can shop and drop off items at the same place. Sales here pay for the job training programs of Goodwill Central Coast, a nonprofit that helps people with employment needs find success. Reusing donated goods also keeps items out of landfills and conserves natural resources.
The store sells used clothing and home goods, and vintage pieces and fine china are part of the mix. Donations are accepted on site, and the drop-off point is marked by its own sign at one end of the building. The doors open seven days a week and stay open into the evening. A blue Goodwill sign stands on a peaked gable above the tiled roofline.
