In Chico, the American Cancer Society runs The Shop Resale Boutique, and every sale helps pay for its fight against cancer. The Society has owned and operated resale stores like this one for 55 years. The racks and shelves hold donated clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles and other household goods. The doors open seven days a week.
The store takes donations of clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares and furniture. Donations are tax-deductible, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Shoppers 55 and older get a discount on Tuesdays, and military members with ID get one every day. All sales are final. Out front, white and mint-green signs read "the shop" and "resale boutique," and a rack of clothing stands on the walkway.
