In Milpitas, Goodwill of Silicon Valley combines a thrift shop and a drop-off point for donations at a single location. The sign out front names it a Donation Center & Store, in white and blue lettering beside the Goodwill emblem. What it sells helps pay for the organization's job training and employment programs across the region. The doors open seven days a week, and the store stays open into the evening on at least one of them.
