Savers in Los Angeles takes donations on behalf of the American Red Cross and pays the charity for the clothing and household goods dropped off here. Purchases themselves benefit no nonprofit. Donations accepted include clothing and shoes, bed and bath items, books and media, games and toys, electronics, housewares, small appliances, small furniture, and exercise and sporting goods. Donors receive a discount on their next purchase.
The sales floor carries clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members earn rewards and get into member-only sales. A tall red sign and matching red awnings mark the white building, and the doors open seven days a week, into the evening.
