Building materials, new and used, make up most of the ever-changing stock at the Clovis ReStore, along with furniture and supplies. The store invites contractors with surplus lumber as well as do-it-yourselfers fixing up their homes, and it is open six days a week, closed on Sundays. It accepts donations of new and used items. A flowchart helps donors check whether an item qualifies before they schedule a pickup.
Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area owns and runs the store as a nonprofit retail outlet. Money from its sales pays for building new Habitat homes, which supports the organization's mission of providing decent, affordable housing to qualifying families. Rows of upholstered chairs sit out front, below a dark blue roofline and a large white ReStore sign.
