Sales at Snowline Thrift in Cameron Park help fund Snowline Health, the nonprofit that provides hospice and palliative care, grief support and ElderCare in the region. The money goes to programs that insurance and Medicare alone do not cover, including Snowline's grief program, support for local veterans and palliative care services. The store takes donations of clothing and household items and is open seven days a week.
Inside, a wire wall covered in hanging coffee mugs stands next to shelves stacked with plates and bowls. Employees and volunteers staff the stores alongside community partners such as AARP, Return to Work and adults with disabilities. Snowline Thrift started 35 years ago as a small effort run entirely by volunteers.
