This resale shop belongs to the American Cancer Society, which runs it, and every sale helps fund the fight against cancer. Its stock is all donated: clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles and household goods. The Society has run its Discovery Shops for 55 years, and the Sacramento shop is open seven days a week.
Donations of clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares and furniture are taken Monday through Saturday. They are tax-deductible, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Shoppers 55 and older get a discount on Tuesdays, and military members with ID get one on every purchase. Over the entrance, a teal shopping-bag logo sits beside the shop's name in dark lowercase letters. All sales are final, with no returns or exchanges.
