Teen Advocacy Going Strong runs this San Leandro thrift store as part of a nonprofit creative reuse hub for diverse and underserved youth ages 13 to 24. Founded and led by women, the organization combines art, sustainability and entrepreneurship, and the store doubles as a creative workspace where teens and young adults build business skills.
Through TAGS, young people take part in job training, entrepreneurship programs, volunteer opportunities and art workshops, all under the motto "Create More, Stress Less." The shop is open five days a week, including Sundays. Vinyl records hang in its front windows beneath a sign cut in the shape of a clothing tag.
