Every sale at Hospice Thrift Store in Angels Camp funds the work of Hospice of Amador & Calaveras, a nonprofit established in 1982. Its mission is to provide end-of-life care to everyone in the community who needs it, regardless of their ability to pay. Volunteers do much of the store's staffing, and the shelves hold donated clothing, furniture and housewares.
The store is open seven days a week. Donations are accepted every day except Sunday, but only during set morning and early-afternoon hours. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent the law allows, receipts are provided, and some items are not accepted. Maroon awnings shade the tan stucco building, which has a blue "THRIFT" sign and a green "SAVE $" sign above its front.
