Sales at Murphys Thrift Store fund the Murphys Senior Center, the nonprofit that runs the shop, and help local seniors lead more active, healthy lives. The shelves hold clothing, books, jewelry, furniture, kitchenware, home decor and appliances, along with games, sporting gear, vinyl records, art and bicycles. New merchandise comes in often.
Donations are accepted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. No drop-offs are taken on Wednesdays or Sundays. The store is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. Its storefront has butter-yellow siding trimmed in rusty orange, with a white sign hanging out front that carries the store's name in red lettering. The shop is also always hiring for positions on its staff.
