Every sale at Rescue Ranch Thrift Store in Yreka benefits Rescue Ranch, a private, no-kill nonprofit that rescues, nurtures and rehomes homeless dogs. The organization runs on donations and grants and takes no government funding. Donated goods stock the store, so the inventory is always changing, and volunteers staff the sales floor.
The shelves hold books, clothing, furnishings, home decor, toys and electronics, and pets are welcome inside. Out front, a large carved statue of a golden-colored dog sits under the white overhang, and green and red bands across the windows name the sections, from kids' clothing to furniture. The shop opened in its current, larger building in December 2022 and is open six days a week, closed Sundays.
