Merchant's Closet brings independent vendors together under one roof. It's an indoor marketplace in Merced where secondhand clothing sits alongside vintage pieces, handcrafted goods, collectibles, and gothic and renaissance-inspired wares. Vendors rotate over time, so the mix of stalls keeps changing. New sellers can rent a space and set up a stall of their own.
The market also holds pop-up events. Past ones include a grand opening market, an evening night market and a Halloween market, with local artists, live music and vendor demos. At some events, shoppers who get a Treasure Passport stamped by each of the participating vendors can win store gift certificates. The doors are open seven days a week and stay open into the evening on some days. A bright blue awning hangs over the entrance beneath a red and gold sign.
