Amanda's Backyard Finds sits behind a broad, white-framed front window set into a tan stucco wall in Twentynine Palms, California. After dark, a lighted OPEN sign glows in that window above a row of small multicolored lights running along its lower edge. The thrift store keeps a five-day weekly schedule, and Sunday is part of it. On at least one of those days, its doors stay open into the evening.
