Run as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit family business, Summit Thrift opened in Alpine in May 2024 to support autism awareness by empowering its employees, under the motto "Reaching Higher Levels." Its stock includes household goods, clothing, shoes and accessories, small to medium furniture, artwork, decor, small appliances, working electronics, sporting goods, memorabilia, toys and games. A metal sign with a mountain-peak logo hangs above the wood-paneled front, and potted succulents line the entry.
Donations are taken on Thursdays, and the store will also schedule pickups. Gifts are tax deductible, receipts are available, and money donations are accepted in person or electronically. Mattresses, baby furniture, batteries and broken electronics are not accepted. The shop is open five days a week, Sundays included.
