Every sale at this shop helps pay for the care of animals taken in by Miranda's Rescue, a nonprofit charity that rescues both large and small animals. The Arcata store sells a wide mix of donated goods, including clothing, furniture, books, toys and small kitchen appliances, and its doors are open seven days a week. A red neon sign reading "The Sidelines" glows above the back of the sales floor.
Donations are accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Antiques, housewares, knickknacks, sporting equipment, records, DVDs and working electrical items are all welcome, as long as everything is clean and in good condition. Items may not be left on the property after hours. Furniture pickups run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the shop also arranges delivery of large items bought there.
