In Coachella, this thrift store is run by Galilee Center, a nonprofit whose mission is to meet the needs of underprivileged and disadvantaged people by providing food, clothing and other basic needs, and to affirm their dignity with love, compassion and respect. Money from the store helps fund the organization's programs for local families in need, including food distribution, a shelter and cooling center, and services for children and seniors.
Galilee Center Thrift Store accepts donated furniture, household items, clothing and more, and it offers free pickup for larger items. Volunteers help run the store on an ongoing basis alongside the center's weekly food basket packing and distributions. The doors are open seven days a week.
