Run by TVI, Inc., the for-profit company behind Savers, this South San Jose thrift store sells clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Its doors open seven days a week and stay open into the evening. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday, with discounts for shoppers 55 and older, and Super Savers Club members get access to members-only sales.
The gabled front carries a glowing red Savers sign above green Donation Center lettering. Drop-offs of clothing, shoes, bed and bath goods, books, toys, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture are accepted, and donors receive a coupon toward their next purchase. Shopping here benefits no charity. Instead, Savers pays Partners and Advocates for Remarkable Children and Adults (PARCA) for the goods donated at this location.
