A nonprofit resale store in Fort Worth, The Resale Shop is a social enterprise of Center for Transforming Lives, which has run it for more than 20 years. All proceeds fund the organization's programs for women and children, including housing, early childhood education, economic mobility and clinical counseling. People in those programs receive "Resale Bucks" that let them choose clothing, housewares and other things they need at no cost.
The shop stocks clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children, along with furniture, housewares, linens, small appliances, books, movies and music. Donations are accepted during business hours at the north end of the shop, which is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. A bright blue awning with the shop's name in white letters runs across the storefront.
