This Houston resale shop sells home furnishings and clothing, and its proceeds fund pediatric neurology research. It is run by The Blue Bird Circle, a women's volunteer organization that has served Houston since 1923. Its members work in the shop and at The Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology at Texas Children's Hospital. The group also supports research centers at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.
The shop accepts donated furniture, home goods and clothes. It also takes furniture, clothing and jewelry on consignment, selling the items and paying the owners part of the sale price. Dark wood sideboards topped with lamps fill the main floor in front of a glass-walled room lined with shelves of china. The shop is open five days a week.
