Something Special

19073 Interstate 45, Shenandoah, TX 77385

About Something Special

Run by the Montgomery County Women's Center, Something Special is a resale shop whose revenue helps keep the center's shelter open for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Shelter residents and their children get shoes and clothing from the store, and its donated furniture and housewares fill the center's transitional housing apartments. Stock includes furniture, clothing, jewelry, bridal gowns, collectibles, antiques, books, electronics, tools and garden equipment. Its name runs across the storefront in large green script.

Donors follow signs to a loading zone and back in, and staff unload the items and offer a tax receipt. The store will also come pick up large furniture. A VIP text club sends members news of flash sales, in-store discounts and shopping events. The shop is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
