A nonprofit thrift store and donation center in Katy, Texas, the South Cypress Goodwill is run by Goodwill Houston, a 501(c)(3) organization. Its work backs job training and placement services for people with barriers to employment, including veterans, older workers, at-risk youth, the formerly incarcerated and individuals with disabilities.
That mission goes beyond placement. Goodwill Houston also educates, trains and hires people facing those barriers, connecting individuals, families and communities with the workforce needs of today and tomorrow. The South Cypress store opens seven days a week and stays open into the evening. Its stone-faced front carries a broad blue sign marked with a Texas-flag Goodwill emblem, naming it a Goodwill Select store and donation center.
