Sales here fund the work of Mid-Coast Family Services, a Victoria agency that supports victims of family violence and sexual assault, people experiencing homelessness, and young people in its programs. The shop operates under the name Mid-Coast Family Treasures, and it also gives donated items to the agency's own clients at no charge.
Businesses and members of the public can bring in clean clothing, toys, jewelry, household goods and furniture, new or used, any time the store is open. Most of what comes in is put out for sale. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. Its white front has a large sign in purple lettering, and a purple heart logo hangs on the front door.
