Port Lavaca's Mid-Coast Family Treasures is run by Mid-Coast Family Services, and its sales help pay for the nonprofit's programs. The money supports victims of family violence and sexual assault, people experiencing homelessness, and young people in the organization's programs. Donated goods are also given free of charge to Mid-Coast Family Services clients. The store sells clothing, toys, jewelry, household items and furniture.
Both businesses and the general public may donate clean items, new or lightly worn, and donations are taken any time the store is open. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. Above its brown metal awning hangs a white sign with "Thrift Store" in dark purple script. Volunteer positions are also available at the store.
