Run by Goodwill Houston, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, this Conroe thrift store sells donated goods and takes donations at the same location. Shopping and donating here help fund job training and placement services for people who face barriers to employment, including veterans, older workers, at-risk youth, formerly incarcerated people and individuals with disabilities.
The organization also educates, trains and hires people from these groups, and it works to connect families and communities with what today's workforce needs. On the tan building, a line of script under the large Goodwill lettering names it a Select Store & Donation Center. The doors open seven days a week, and the store stays open into the evening every day.
