Shopping and giving happen under one roof at Goodwill Store & Donation Center in Athens, a thrift store that also takes donated goods. Alabama Goodwill runs it, and the purchases and donations made here pay for the nonprofit's job training, career services and work opportunities for people across Alabama. The store's sign pairs the blue smiling-G logo with large white lettering across a pale facade.
Donors can leave items at the store, schedule a donation pick-up, host a donation drive or give money online. Alabama Goodwill also runs programs such as BookWorks, which welcomes volunteers from schools, churches and workplaces. The doors are open seven days a week, with evening hours on at least one day.
