In Cullman, the Foundry Thrift Store is run by The Foundry Ministries, and every dollar of its proceeds supports the men, women and families in the ministry's life-change programs. The shelves hold clothing, furniture, home décor, toys, electronics and books, restocked daily through community donations. Long rows of clothing racks stretch across the sales floor.
Donations of clothing, furniture, antiques, shoes, appliances and more are accepted, and pickups can be scheduled for many items. Hot tubs, pianos, pool tables and exercise equipment must be dropped off at the store, while used mattresses, tires, weapons, propane tanks and printers are not accepted. Donated goods that can't be sold are sorted, baled and shipped for recycling. A loyalty rewards program is offered, and the store is open six days a week, into the evening, and closed Sundays.
