Every purchase at this Bradenton thrift shop supports the Manatee Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that gives scholarships and grants to local residents. The foundation helps students and local nonprofit organizations reach their goals. That work runs from setting up endowments and recruitment to paying for medical training facilities, through partnerships with area universities that advance health-related care.
Purchases at the shop add to the mission, along with the foundation's gift shop, donor contributions and volunteer support. The thrift shop is open six days a week and closed on Sundays. On its pale stucco front, the words MMF Thrift Shop run in blue letters beside a large green gecko sculpture. The foundation has served the community's medical and educational needs since 1992.
