Sales at this Sebring nonprofit shop pay for homes built by Highlands County Habitat for Humanity. The store turns donations from individuals and businesses into money for families who need housing. Its stock mixes new and used building materials with home furnishings, including furniture, lamps, dishware, clothing, jewelry and books, and the inventory changes daily. It is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
Smaller donations go to the loading dock at the back of the building on weekdays, and a crew schedules pickups for large or heavy items. Broken goods, cribs, pianos, gas appliances and hazardous materials are not accepted. A turquoise awning runs along the storefront under a round blue-and-white sign that reads Shop, Donate, Volunteer. The ReStore reopened in June 2020 after a full remodel.
