Clothing, household goods, furniture, outdoor items, crafts, toys and jewelry fill Restoration Thrift Store, an on-site ministry of Restoration United Methodist Church in Cottondale, Florida. Sales support the church's outreach and Celebrate Recovery ministries. The church itself is a new congregation meeting in the former First United Methodist Church of Cottondale building.
The store opens only on Saturdays and closes for the month of January. A monthly sale marks down clothing and seasonal items. Inside, rows of white shelving hold mugs, glassware and small kitchen appliances above dark wood floors. Purchases, donations and visits all help the church serve neighbors in need.
