Part home improvement store and part donation center, this nonprofit ReStore in New Smyrna Beach is run by Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity, and its sales help families toward owning a home. The shelves hold new and used furniture, appliances, clothing, shoes, books, toys, jewelry and home furnishings, along with building materials such as doors, cabinets, lumber, tile, plumbing fixtures and tools. A Habitat logo sits on a bright blue front panel trimmed in green.
Donations can be dropped off on weekday and Saturday mornings, and pickup can be arranged. Appliances and fans must be clean and in full working order, and the store takes only full containers of latex paint. Extra stock the store can't sell goes to local charities through its Community Mission Assistance Program. The store is open six days a week and closed Sundays.
