Reuse Planet is a traditional thrift store run by The Repurpose Project, a Gainesville nonprofit. It sells furniture, clothing, shoes, household goods, framed art, electronics and antique and vintage pieces. Sales support the nonprofit's work to build a large local circular economy that keeps usable items moving within the community.
The store is open seven days a week and takes donations every day, and it especially welcomes big items like furniture. A truck service handles pickups and deliveries, and the store asks for a donation when it picks up goods. The entrance is a bright teal block wall with the store's sign painted on it, and neon-colored planters sit out front. The store is the second phase of the nonprofit's plan for a reuse system that can handle the wide range and huge amount of things people throw away.
