Tampa Thrift in Lutz partners with Keep Florida Beautiful to give donated textiles and household goods a second life and keep them out of landfills. The stock covers men's, women's and children's clothing, shoes for all ages, jewelry, purses, wallets, belts, kitchenware, home decor and toys, and some new items still carry their tags.
Each week a different color tag marks items for markdown. Mondays bring jewelry discounts, Tuesdays have a senior discount, and military members and veterans get a discount every day. The Tampa Thrift Points program gives repeat shoppers credit toward later purchases, and Spanish is spoken. The store is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening. Its name runs in bold red letters across the white front of the building.
