Planet Green Thrift Store in Boothwyn is a secondhand shop with an environmental mission. It's run by the Planet Green Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to keep usable goods out of landfills and to cut down on single-use plastic. The organization also holds community cleanups twice a year, has adopted two miles of highway, gives free books to children, provides job training for people with disabilities and raises funds with the Environmental Defense Fund. The store sells clothing, accessories, housewares, furniture, books and games, plus reusable bags, tumblers and plastic-free soap bars.
Donations are tax deductible and accepted on site daily during business hours. Pickups can be scheduled online for items one person can carry. The store is open seven days a week, and seniors get a discount on Mondays. Its brick building has a red front door under a blue sign.
