Old Town Mission Thrift Store puts all of its profits back into the community. The money funds the programs of Old Town Mission, a Christian outreach in Cottonwood, Arizona, that runs a client-choice food pantry, community meals and a homeless resource center. The store sells clothing and home goods and puts out new stock every day. Applications for the Mission's Second Chance Employment Program are taken here.
Donations come in on the days the store is open, and donated items can be picked up for free, with some restrictions. Open five days a week, the store has a weekly round of sale days: men's clothing on Tuesdays, a Wednesday senior day for shoppers 55 and older, women's clothing on Thursdays, and a storewide customer appreciation sale on Saturdays. A red sign with yellow lettering hangs on its long, pale metal building.
