Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska runs Goodwill Cat Connection in downtown Lincoln as a lounge for adoptable cats rather than a resale shop, in partnership with Capital Humane Society. Every cat living on site can be adopted through the humane society, so the residents keep changing as cats go to new homes. Visitors can request an adoption appointment at a humane society kiosk inside.
A tall blue Goodwill sign sits above the tan brick storefront. Visits are booked as memberships, and everyone entering signs a "Claws Clause," follows posted signs and treats cats and people with respect. The person booking must be at least 16, and children need supervision the whole time. Groups can book parties and events, money donations help pay for the space, and it is open six days a week, Sundays included.
