Proceeds from the GIA Thrift Store fund recovery housing and support services run by Gratitude in Action, including Ignatia's House Sober Living in Billings. The store sits on the organization's Campus for Change and doubles as a training ground where people in recovery gain work experience, customer service skills and retail know-how. Sales also back clothing and household voucher programs, job training and transportation assistance.
Stock changes daily and spans furniture, vintage and antique pieces, home décor, kitchenware, clothing, shoes, jewelry, books, toys, sporting goods, small appliances and artwork. Donated furniture and household goods also help families move into permanent housing. Donations are taken during set midday hours, and the store is open six days a week and closed Sundays. Dark wooden beams cross the sales floor beneath deep orange walls.
