A thrift store and donation center in one, the Wilmington Savers belongs to a for-profit company, and shopping here does not benefit a charity. Donations do: the store pays Epilepsy Foundation New England for the clothing and household goods people drop off, which helps fund the foundation's programs. Accepted items include clothing and shoes, backpacks and purses, books and media, electronics, housewares, games and toys, bed and bath goods, sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture.
The racks hold clothing for the whole family alongside dinnerware, accessories, books and electronics. People who donate get a discount on their next purchase, and every Tuesday shoppers aged 55 and up get a senior discount. Super Savers Club members earn rewards and get members-only sales. The store is open seven days a week and into the evening, with its name in orange-red letters across a tan front trimmed in stone.
