Every sale at the Hand in Hand Thrift Shop helps keep the Hand in Hand Senior Center open in Weare. The nonprofit uses the proceeds to pay for weekly lunches, fitness and other classes, a food pantry and events for local seniors. Volunteers run the shop, which opens on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The shelves carry clothing, housewares, craft supplies, small appliances, decorative items and jewelry, and the stock changes often. A long row of wicker baskets hangs from a high wooden shelf above the clothing racks, where suitcases and potted plants also sit. Donations of items in good condition are welcome during open hours, and a drop box takes them when the shop is closed. Cash, credit cards and checks are accepted.
