In Pullman, Palouse Treasures has been part of the community since 2003. Boost Collaborative owns and runs the thrift store as a social enterprise. It also serves as an inclusive job training site, where adults with disabilities earn a paycheck and learn retail skills while working alongside co-workers without disabilities. In a typical month, about 24 people with disabilities work and train there.
Money from sales helps Boost Collaborative rely less on state contracts for its funding. Donations stay on the Palouse and support local residents with disabilities. The store is open six days a week, Sundays included. Its two-story white building has a blue roofline, a blue awning over the entrance and tall windows across the front.
