Through a voucher program, individuals and families facing financial hardship can shop at Thrift n Save in Kennett Square at no cost, and the store partners with nonprofits whose clients can benefit from those vouchers. Its stock covers secondhand clothing and accessories, home and kitchen goods, toys, trinkets, self-care items and furniture, and all sales are final.
Donated clothing in every size and season is welcome, including men's and kids' pieces, but it must be washed and free of stains or tears. Furniture must arrive in good condition with no damage. Drop-offs are taken only during open hours, which run six days a week, Sundays included, and into the evening. People who are moving or downsizing and have a large load can schedule a pickup. Tall arched windows light a sage-green sales floor full of clothing racks.
