In New London, the VNA Renaissance Shop has operated since 2004 inside the Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice building. Community members donate the goods, and the profits go directly to the organization's home care, hospice and community health programs. Volunteers help run the shop, which is open five days a week and has two spaces: a main Showroom and The Barn, across the parking lot.
It carries furniture, antiques, collectibles, china, glassware, jewelry and household goods. Wooden dining tables set with dishes fill the floor, and framed artwork hangs on knotty pine walls. Smaller donations are accepted during business hours, larger pieces should be discussed with the shop first, and nothing should be left after hours. Because the VNA is a nonprofit, donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
