A nonprofit secondhand shop run by LISTEN Community Services, the Canaan store sells donated goods to help fund the organization's food, heating and housing assistance for neighbors in the Upper Valley. Thirteen percent of store revenue goes directly to those programs. The selection covers furniture, housewares and clothing for the whole family, along with books, movies, small electronics and seasonal decorations.
Community donations stock the store, and LISTEN also offers a furniture pick-up form for larger items. Each week brings many sale days, and the store holds several seasonal and holiday events throughout the year. It is open six days a week, Sundays included. The gray board-sided building has crisp white trim and a gabled entry topped by a small sign reading LISTEN Thrift Shop.
