Habitat for Humanity for Rhode Island South County runs a ReStore in Charlestown, and every purchase and donation there supports its housing work. South County Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1990. It builds affordable homes, offers home repair services and installs handicap ramps through its Ramp Up RI program. It also runs a homeownership program, and it has built 65 homes so far.
The ReStore takes donated goods and offers volunteer shifts of its own, separate from the construction sites. Its sales floor is filled with furniture: denim-blue and leather sofas sit alongside wicker pieces, wooden dressers and stacks of throw pillows. The store is open five days a week, and the affiliate it supports had 586 volunteers in 2025.
