Sales at Switchpoint Thrift Store provide ongoing funding for the Switchpoint Homeless Shelter and Community Resource Center, which sits across the street. The store is an entity of Switchpoint and is backed by Friends of Switchpoint Inc, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It also runs an eight-week job training program for people in the community who need more job skills.
Household goods and clothing donated by local residents are put back to use and sold to the public. Donations are taken Monday through Saturday during set drop-off hours, and pickups can also be scheduled. The St. George shop is closed on Sundays. Its tan brick building has a white sign with red "Thrift Store" lettering next to an orange and red sunburst logo.
