Run by the Saint Francis Humane Society, a nonprofit Christian 501(c)(3) organization, this Dayton thrift store sells donated goods to fund the society's work. Donations of furniture and home furnishings in good condition are welcome and tax deductible. Items in poor condition can't be used in the program. The shop is open five days a week and stays open into the evening.
Above the entrance hangs a cream sign with green lettering and a sketch of Saint Francis holding an animal, with a bird in flight beside him. Every sale supports the society's mission of promoting the humane treatment of animals. For 30 years that has meant rescuing animals in need, finding and funding foster homes, helping with veterinary care and donating to animal welfare organizations.
