Santa Fe YouthWorks runs ThriftWorks, a nonprofit thrift store in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where all sales proceeds support local youth. Its shelves carry donated art, clothing, furniture, collectibles, fitness equipment, small kitchen appliances, household goods and outdoor gear. Racks of clothing roll out in front of its tan metal building, under a large clock mounted on the wall beside an open roll-up door.
Donations are tax-deductible and come in by drop-off or scheduled appointment on set weekdays. New, unused items such as interview clothes, backpacks, sleeping bags and hygiene products are also collected for youth receiving services. The store is open five days a week, and it also serves as a place where young people get job training and local artists find support.
