Hamilton, New Jersey, has this 2nd Ave thrift superstore, run by TVI, Inc., the for-profit company behind the Savers Value Village family of stores. Thousands of items go out on the floor every day, sorted by category, and clothing is also arranged by size. The shelves hold collectibles, toys, games, dishware, electronics, linens, books, shoes, purses and ties. A blue-and-green "2A Thrift Superstore" sign hangs over the tan front of the building.
Donated clothing and household goods benefit the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, which TVI pays for each donation. Purchases in the store do not support any nonprofit. The donation center also takes small furniture, small appliances, sporting goods and bed and bath items. Donors get a discount on their next purchase, and Loyalty Rewards members save every Tuesday. The doors are open seven days a week, into the evening.
